Awareness Month
1st-30th July 2021 Sarcoma Awareness Month- Sarcoma is the general term for a broad group of cancers. These types of cancers begin in the bones and soft tissues. They are quite uncommon cancers but can affect any part of the body.
Sarcoma affects around 15 people per day in the UK. This equates to around 5,300 people per year. The rates of Sarcoma have been gradually increasing over the last two decades. Around 78% of people will live up to a year after being diagnosed with Sarcoma. In addition, the five year survival rate is 55%.
This is the 10th year of Sarcoma awareness month and there are a lot of events in place to raise awareness. This includes a series of online talks with Sarcoma experts and interviews also.
