World Mental Health Day: 10th October

1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem each year.

World Mental Health Day is taking place on the 10th October 2021. The purpose of the day is to raise public awareness about all mental health issues. The World Federation for Mental Health have announced that the theme for this year’s event is ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’.

Mental Health UK are also hosting a news-style programme, “Forward Together for Mental Health” in order to raise awareness of how mental health affects people in the UK, especially during the coronavirus crisis. Sign up to watch here.

A number of resources are available to check out, such as posters and social media graphics to spread the message. You can also wear the official Mental Health Day green ribbon pins and face covers to show your support for the cause, either in an organisation or as an individual.

The Mental Health Foundation are also providing informative “How to” publications to order from their website, covering topics such as “How to look after your mental health” “How to sleep better” and How to overcome fear and anxiety”.
