DfI Breast Cancer Wear it Pink Day

Breast Cancer Wear it Pink day is one of the biggest annual fundraising events and takes place in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Most of us will know someone affected by cancer in some way. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month the aim is to get as many people as possible involved in fundraising for breast cancer research and support.

Clarence Court staff were out in full force to support this year's coffee morning to raise much-needed funds for cancer research and life-changing support.

Each year organiser Joanne Keenan from Finance Branch arranges for the donations to go to a different Cancer Charity.  This year’s donation of £490 went to Pretty ‘n’ Pink.

Pretty ‘n’ Pink is a small charity which was founded in 2006 and is the only registered Breast Cancer Charity in NI.  The event also complements the Department’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.

The event is a great time to meet up with old and new colleagues over a coffee, hot food and a bun and is always very well supported.

Joanne would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped out in any way and to all who supported the event.
