Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Every year, 295,000 women around the world are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and only half will survive beyond five years.

John Lynch, an Ovarian Cancer Action volunteer, gave a virtual talk to help raise awareness about Ovarian Cancer to colleagues in the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

John talked about the work Ovarian Cancer Action does, and covered what Ovarian Cancer is, some key facts and statistics regarding incidence, survival rates and mortality, and compare these with other types of cancer. John discusses the symptoms, how it is diagnosed and treated and various factors which increase a woman's chance of getting Ovarian Cancer
