Breast Cancer Awareness Month

1^st October – 31^st October 2021 is Breast Cancer Awareness month which is an annual event that aims to spread awareness, raise money and support for people affected by breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with figures showing around 55,000 women and 370 men in the UK have been diagnosed this year. However 25% of these cases are said to be preventable by making changes to your lifestyle and knowing the signs and symptoms to look out for. Therefore, it is important to support communities to take action now to spread awareness.  

There are many ways you can get involved with Breast Cancer Awareness month. These include:

• Taking part in charity runs, bike rides, walks etc
• Taking part in the “Wear it Pink” campaign on 22^nd October
• Campaigning
• Fundraising
• Volunteering
• Donate to Breast Cancer Now
• Sponsor a Nurse
• Promote Breast Cancer Awareness month by following Breast Cancer Now on social media and sharing their information with friends, family and colleagues.
