Wellbeing Service in conjunction with NICS WELL will be offering a new series of desk pilates sessions commencing Tuesday 25th May. Best of all the new sessions take just 15 minutes on MS Teams!
This is the latest in a series of mind and body initiatives offered to all DfC staff to aid physical and mental wellbeing during the pandemic.
The initial sessions will run twice a week for a 6 week period (Tuesday and Thursday 12:30pm to 1245) and will run in conjunction with existing light exercise and yoga classes already on offer.
Fionnuala Keohane from NICS WELL who will deliver the new desk pilates sessions explains more:
“The great selling point of this is that it is carried out while sitting in a chair, it can be varied with standing beside your chair for balance or being briefly on the floor – all in 15 minutes’’.
Benefits of desk pilates include strengthening of core postural muscles and upper back, released tension in the neck/shoulders/chest/back/arms/hands, improved breathing and reduced stress. So why not give it a try?”
