Welcome to Jumpstart January!

WELL and nicssa have come together to bring you Jumpstart January; our month-long health and wellbeing campaign designed to energise, inspire and support you as we kick off the new year together.

January is the perfect time to reset, refocus, and recharge. Whether you're looking to boost your physical fitness, improve your mental wellbeing or simply make healthier choices; this campaign is here to help you take that first step.

Throughout the month, we’ll be offering a range of activities, events and resources to support your wellbeing including Steps2Fitness challenge and Wellness Wednesday Workshops. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to get involved, connect with colleagues and even win some great prizes along the way.

Steps2Fitness

Steps2Fitness is a walking challenge for individuals and will take place from Monday 5th to Friday 30th January 2026.

Register Here 

Participants can join our Strava group (Steps2Fitness2025) where they will be automatically ranked on how far they have walked and/or they can post pictures of at least two pictures a week on our WELL Programme Facebook Page

Why not encourage your co-workers to sign up and create some challenges in your office? The challenge is free to join and open to NICS Employees and all nicssa members.

Prizes

There will be prizes each week including:

  • Spot Prize: £50 Voucher: Choose between JD Sports, Sports Direct or Go Outdoors
  • Spot Prize: Nicssa Wellbeing Hamper
  • Strava Top of the Leaderboard Prize £50 Voucher: Choose between JD Sports, Sports Direct or Go Outdoors

Simply create or connect your Strava account HERE . This will let you track your steps, stay connected with fellow participants and join the community moving towards better health. It is important to note steps is not the goal… Distance is!

Wellness Wednesdays

Start the new year by investing in yourself! Each Wednesday in January, we’ll host a lunchtime seminar focused on different aspects of wellbeing from goal setting and fitness to nutrition and financial health. These sessions are designed to give you practical tips and inspiration to help you thrive in 2026.

Each week nicssa will be facilitating

  • Goal Setting – 7th January 2026 | 12 noon – 12:30pm

Are you facing challenges when it comes to defining or achieving your goals? In this session, you’ll delve into your sources of motivation in your career, health, or personal relationships. You’ll also gain a more profound insight into goal setting, establishing a clear vision of your objectives, and the path to reaching them.

  • Fitness: Online Class – 14th January 2026 | 12 noon – 12:30pm

Nicssa Stormont Rob will kick start your fitness with a quick full-body workout suitable for all levels and no equipment is required!

  • Nutrition: Eat Right, Live Right – 21st January 2026 | 12 noon – 12:30pm

Designed to empower you with practical tips and strategies, this professional webinar will show you how to fuel your body and mind for success. With expert guidance and actionable advice, learn the importance of nutrition for work and help you to start off the new year right.
