Local Champion Gerald raises funds for Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke

In February of 2020, Champion Gerald Morris of DOJ held a walk in memory of his late brother Gary. Gary was  fit and healthy when he suffered a fatal heart attack at a young age of 33 in February 2012.

Since then the family has organised a walk in his memory to raise funds for Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke. This year the walk was from Holywood to Bangor, meeting at the coastal path beside the Dirty Duck, Holywood. During the 8 mile hike they had managed to catch some good weather, which ended with tea/coffee and some hot soup served at the Pickie Pool Café in the Bangor Marina.

On the Friday prior to the walk buns & biscuits were left in the FSD (DOJ) kitchen and staff left a donation for NICHS. The group managed to raise £58.

Gerald would like to thank to all who took part in the bunfest and the walk, and made generous donations.
